Handsaws
The handsaw consists of a saw blade that is a straight or round steel plate with teeth for cutting through various materials.
As the saw blade is moved by the force of the hand, it penetrates further and further into the material. They have a chipping effect. This means that the friction of the teeth creates a groove or a dividing line.

The properties of a good Saw
- In order to penetrate the material properly, the saw blade should not be flexible but firm.
- The best handsaw has sharp teeth to glide easily through wood, for example.
- Good handsaws have an ergonomic handle that should be non-slip.
- The saw blade is made of stainless steel so that the hand saw will last a long time.
- Hand saws should be good value for money; buying a hand saw means investing in your work, only then you can guarantee the best possible cutting performance.
The types of Handsaws
Here is an overview of some of the bestsellers in our range:
- handsaw Heavy Duty 550 mm: this is a universal hand saw for wood with a hardened blade for longer life;
- the superior saws: these ergonomic saws fit perfectly in the hand and are suitable for sawing sheet material and wood;
- a plasterboard scraper saw: these saws are specially designed with a thicker blade and can easily cut through all plasterboard.
In addition, there is a whole range for the joiner and plasterer, as well as for the do-it-yourselfer. There are hand saws for wood, metal and plaster in various shapes and sizes. A recommendation is the Japanese saw with a tightly tensioned saw blade that ensures a fine cut.
Only the best brands
The Stanley Jetcut handsaw is one of our bestsellers for cutting wood. This 45 cm saw has a 0.7 mm thick saw blade and thus ensures good precision and stability. The saw works on push and pull and is available in four different sizes. Thanks to its large number of teeth, it can make clean cuts. Not only pieces of wood can be processed with this "foxtail", but also plastics and laminates.
Other saws that should not be missing from the work case are those from Bahco. Even the small handsaw not only has a hardened blade, it also has a coating that reduces friction. This and the ergonomic handles make for low-vibration, less tiring cutting.
