The right Auger for every application
The choice of an auger depends on the application. Do you, as a private individual, want to use the auger only occasionally to install a fence or a tree post, or are you looking for a versatile auger for weekly or daily professional use?
Post Hole Augers
This type of auger is a manual auger of a standard length. This auger cannot be extended. Post Hole Auger is somewhat cheaper and perfectly suited for garden work, such as installing the posts for a fence. These posts usually do not have to be sunk too deeply into the ground and have standard dimensions.
One point of attention when installing fence posts is the size of the post. Fence posts are frequently square, and the drill is round, so the usable area for a square post is smaller.
Earth Augers
An auger that can be extended and has a twisted point. This auger is therefore more suitable for professional use and for many different applications. The twisted point allows the earth auger to tackle heavier types of soil, and the separately available extension pieces allow you to adjust the depth for any job. Many manual earth augers have a T-shaped handle and a tube with a locking pin that is clamped in the handle. This makes it easy to extend the auger with spacers.
For heavier earthwork, there is a petrol-driven earth auger. This will enable you to drill in heavier soil types without any problems and to continue working for a long time. Petrol earth augers are suitable for various applications. From drilling planting holes and holes for poles, to taking soil samples.
