Plate Joiners

The tightest joints with a Plate Joiner

If you regularly need to join two pieces of wood together, a plate joiner will be a great help. Of course, you can join wood with a nail or screw. But this is not very attractive, especially on workpieces where the wood joints are visible. A plate joiner is used to make joints without the use of a nail or screw. In this way, joints seamlessly merge into each other and the whole looks tighter.

How does a Plate Joiner work?

A plate joiner is also sometimes called a biscuit joiner or a biscuit jointer. With this machine, you connect the pieces of wood to be joined with a laminate. You mark on your workpiece the places where the joint will go. Then you insert the workpiece into the plate joiner. With the adjusting knob, you determine the exact position where you want to mill, and you fix the workpiece with a locking button. With the depth adjustment knob, you can determine the exact depth based on the length of the joint. In this way, you can very accurately make a very neat joint. When buying a laminate cutter and for even better results, check whether you need a cutter with a miter guide or a dust extractor.
