Fans

Ventilating rooms

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment has made good ventilation compulsory at many workplaces. In (construction) work where dangerous gases and substances are released such as paint fumes and quartz dust, good ventilation is achieved by aerating, venting and filtering the air on the work floor. By using a construction ventilator, toxic fumes, dust and other harmful substances are easily removed and fresh air is supplied. In situations such as those in tunnels, crawl spaces, freezing operations where nitrogen is used and at water treatment plants, construction fans are also frequently used to ventilate the working environment.

Dust extraction

In order to meet legally required targets regarding the maximum amount of dust allowed on the work floor, the construction fan with hose offers a solution. The Working Conditions Act prescribes that health risks caused by dust must be tackled at the source. Mounting a dust extractor on the machines where the dust is released provides for this approach. Dust is released during activities such as chopping, drilling, sawing, milling, grinding, sanding and blasting.

Fan construction drying process

Apart from construction dryers or dehumidifiers, a construction fan is very suitable to be used for drying rooms. What the fan does is to move moist air to the outside. The air in a humid room will be saturated at some point and will not be able to absorb any more moisture because of the high humidity. If the damp air is removed adequately, the fresh air will again be able to absorb the moisture present in the room. A building fan can be used in combination with a dehumidifier or construction dryer. Axial fans are suitable for situations in large spaces with moisture problems. The drying of rooms where agricultural products such as potatoes and grain are stored is best carried out by radial building fans.

Cooling and heating rooms

A construction fan with hose is required for heating and cooling rooms. There are several ways to heat rooms with a duct fan. You can place the fan at the highest point in a room. Warm air rises to the top and is then moved back down again. Warm air can also be moved from a central heat source to other rooms within a building. For this solution, a radial fan is the best choice. To bring cooling to large spaces such as factories, warehouses and sheds, an axial building fan is more appropriate.
