Manual Saws
Power or Cordless
One of the features you should definitely consider is whether you want a cordless or battery-powered hand saw. Nowadays, batteries are so advanced that they are not at all inferior to power machines. You can go for a battery-powered hand saw if you prefer not to have a cable getting in the way or because you do not always have access to power during projects. In the latter case, it makes sense to also consider how long the battery will last.
The cutting capacity
Although a powerful machine is indispensable when you want to cut through thick wooden planks, it may be wise to go for a saw with a lower capacity when you want to cut through laminate, for example. The extra cutting capacity is not necessary in this case and will probably only get in the way, as more powerful handheld saws are generally a lot heavier than the less powerful versions.
Cutting depth
Whether you go for a wall saw, a manual tile saw, a cut-off machine or any other electric handheld saw, never forget to consider the cutting depth when you buy. If you are using mitre saws at a 90-degree angle, you should also bear in mind that the cutting depth is +/- 10 mm less.
The price and the brand
As a rule, a higher price gives you a better machine, but part of the price also depends on the brand. We offer several brands, making it easy for you to compare manual saws from brands such as Carat, Rubi, Dewalt and Makita. When comparing prices, also take into account any accessories that may or may not be included. A slightly more expensive manual saw that comes with a case can suddenly turn out to be relatively cheaper.
