Submersible Pumps

A submersible pump is the ideal tool to use in case of flooding. It is important to carefully consider in advance what you are going to use the pump for. Does the device have to pump out dirty water? Not all pumps are suitable for that. Dirty water submersible pumps suck up both clean and dirty water, but here too there are differences in capacity. Some models can suck up larger pieces of dirt than others. Take a look at our range to help yourself. We have the ideal submersible pump for every application at an affordable price.

Popular submersible pump brands: Metabo | Kärcher | Sulzer

What do you look for when buying a submersible pump?

What are features you look for in a submersible pump? Important features include the built-in valve and the float. A built-in check valve ensures that the water does not back up when the pump switches itself off. It is a mechanism that ensures that the machine is switched on and off when necessary. The float floats on the water and is in this way a kind of measuring instrument for the water level. As soon as the water level rises to the switch-on level, the pump starts working. When the water level and the float have subsequently dropped to the switch-off level, the pump switches itself off. However, it is also possible to switch submersible pumps on and off manually by fixing the float. If it is a flat-rate pump, you only need to turn a lever. A loose float must be secured with a tie-wrap.

The pump capacity and the discharge height

The pump capacity is one of the most important properties to consider when choosing a pump. The capacity determines how many liters of water can be pumped out per hour. This pump capacity assumes the most optimal situation. A high capacity ensures that the water is pumped away more quickly, which is certainly important in cases of flooding, for example. Another important feature is the pump head. This indicates how many meters the pump can pump up the water. For proper operation, it is wise to buy a pump with a slightly higher pump head than you expect to need.

The residue of a dirty water pump

With most dirty water pumps, a layer of water of a few centimeters remains after pumping. A flat suction pump, however, will leave a residue of only 0-2 mm. If you intend to use the pump for pumping out flooded rooms, this is a good option.
