What Warranty Do You Get on a Makita Product?

In addition to the legal warranty, Makita offers an additional manufacturer's warranty. When you purchase Makita tools from Toolnation and register your purchase afterward, you will automatically receive an additional 2 years' warranty from Toolnation!

What Does the Makita Manufacturer's Warranty Entail?

The Makita Warranty includes:

• 3-year warranty on machines.
• 2-year warranty on Li-ion batteries and chargers.

This additional warranty does not apply to torches, tools with combustion engines (petrol), pneumatic tools, compressors, and gas-powered tools.

What Does the Additional Toolnation Warranty Include?

At Toolnation, you will receive a total of 5 years of warranty on Makita power tools. In addition to the manufacturer's warranty, you will receive a 2-year Toolnation warranty after registering your purchase. The statutory warranty is 2 years. After registering with the manufacturer, you can extend the guarantee by 1 year, depending on the brand or product. You will receive an additional two years of warranty from Toolnation.

The same terms and conditions of the supplier's warranty apply to the two extra years of Toolnation warranty. The Toolnation guarantee does not extend to products or product groups excluded by the manufacturer for an extended warranty period.

Therefore, if you cannot register a Makita product with the manufacturer for an extended warranty, the extra Toolnation warranty does not apply.

The 2-year extra Toolnation warranty does not apply to high-pressure cleaners, machines with combustion engines, and air tools.

What Do You Need to Do for the Makita Warranty and the Additional Toolnation Warranty?

To qualify for the generous warranty on your Makita tools, you need to register the product on the Makita website within the stipulated period. After purchasing a Makita product from Toolnation, visit the Makita website and register your machine, battery, or charger there within 4 weeks of purchase. You will then receive a warranty and service certificate in the form of a PDF document. Please note: each device must be registered separately. Failure to do this will result in the forfeiture of the extra warranty, both from Makita and Toolnation, and the statutory 1-year warranty will apply. The additional warranty is effective for purchases of the brands listed from 01-09-2018.

PLEASE NOTE: It is crucial for you, the customer, to purchase a product with full warranty. Many websites offer items for lower prices, but these are often machines from abroad that are typically converted. This can result in breakdowns or even fires. Manufacturers' warranties on these products are usually non-existent or limited to a maximum of 12 months.

If you buy machines from an unauthorized dealer or trader, and the purchase invoice does not match the registration, you cannot claim additional manufacturer's and Toolnation warranty! Therefore, ensure you purchase from an official brand dealer like Toolnation!
