Makita and Toolnation Warranty Terms

When you purchase a Makita device from Toolnation, you benefit from extensive warranty coverage. In addition to the statutory warranty for consumers (2 years in the Netherlands), Makita offers a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty on power tools—provided you register your device within 4 weeks through your My Makita account at Makita.nl. Lithium-ion batteries and chargers come with a standard 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, without registration.

Toolnation extends the warranty on electric tools by an additional 2 years, provided the device has been correctly and timely registered with Makita. This gives you up to 5 years of warranty coverage through Toolnation.

What does the Makita manufacturer’s warranty cover?

Once your product is registered within 4 weeks via your My Makita account, you will receive a digital warranty certificate granting you a total of 3 years of manufacturer’s warranty on power tools.

3-year warranty on power tools

• Standard 1-year manufacturer’s warranty
• +2 extra years after registering within 4 weeks via your My Makita account

2-year warranty on Li-ion batteries and chargers

• No registration required since October 1, 2017
• Warranty assessment based on proof of purchase or production date (maximum 3 years old)
• Technical inspection via Makita battery tester (e.g., charge cycles, usage, storage conditions)

Exclusions from extended warranty

• No extension possible for Ni-Cd batteries, Ni-Cd chargers, lasers, lamps, petrol-powered tools, pneumatic tools, compressors, gas nailers, heated/ventilated jackets and vests, and torque wrenches (unless explicitly stated otherwise). (see full list)

What does the additional 2-year Toolnation warranty include?

If the registration with Makita is fully completed within 4 weeks of purchase, Toolnation extends the warranty period by 2 additional years. This extra warranty applies only to purchases made through Toolnation from 01-09-2018 onward, provided the product is not excluded by the manufacturer.

Please note:

• The Makita warranty is only valid if registration is completed within 4 weeks of purchase.
• The additional Toolnation warranty requires registration within 30 days of purchase.
• Each device must be registered individually.
• In the event of a warranty claim, both the Makita warranty certificate and the original purchase invoice must be submitted.
• The information on the certificate and invoice must match exactly.
• The Toolnation extended warranty does not apply to pressure washers, petrol-powered tools, or pneumatic tools.
